Monitoring & Evaluation Induction Training

DURATION: 2 DAYS

The Training for Monitoriong and Evaluation is designed for the Public Sector, NGO’s, Development Organisations as well as the Private Sector organisations which are involved in Development projects e.g. Corporate Social Investment application.

The training is customized to the particular monitoring system of the client, and may be combined with a monitoring system planning and/implementation workshop, working with actual strategy, goals, objectives, indicators etc.

MODULE 1  MONITORING AND EVALUATION PLANNING

SESSION 1 | M&E CONTEXT : VISION, MISSION AND STRATEGIC PLAN OF THE ORGANISATION

  • Understanding of the broader framework ( Strategic Plan  and high level goals guiding the workshop
  • Monitoring and Evaluation is clearly understood as a means ( method) to an end(achievement of Country, Government  or institution’s mission and goals)
  • Introduce the Strategic Plan or example of higher goals (depending on depth of introduction during session1)
  • The Strategic Plan of the organisation and relevance for the M&E plan
  • The M&E Framework
  • M&E systems and key concepts contained in the M&E plan

SESSION 2 | LEADING AND MANAGING THE M&E SYSTEM AND PROCESS

  • Criteria for an Effective M&E Plan to translate into action and results.
  • Requirements and Actions on strategic level  to ensure the successful implementation of the M&E plan
  • A set of success criteria for the implementation of the MoE Performance Management Plan, aligned to the Strategic plan
  • A draft set of actions to stimulate thinking and creative processes which will be required in the next planning steps
  • Practical exercises, working with Strategic Themes, Strategic Objectives, Strategic initiatives
  • Requirements and Actions on the next levels to ensure the PMP achieve the intended results (actions)
  • Typical Roles and Responsibilities for M&E
  • Typical Organisational structures with M&E
  • Current and future (possible)M&E Partnerships (stakeholders)
